We Need Eachother

I felt like I cared for God's children tonight.

I felt the pain it feels to be hated. Misunderstood. To have the best of intentions but not be able to make someone choose the best choice.
To want a child to be safe and loved and cared about more than anything in the world but not be able to force my hand.

Children who have no one else.
Children who look so normal, peaceful, and miraculous when they're asleep.
Children who have lived a personal hell most of us will never know.

We need each other. The book I'm reading, "A general theory of love", is all about how the limbic brain in humans (and mammals) formed to create bond. If we don't have love, security, and companionship in our earliest days - something of the "human" in us just doesn't turn out right.

We need each other to be healthy in so, so many ways.
I hope I never forget that, and I hope we never stop giving each other the gift of humanity every day.

I'm sorry I posted this tipsy and exhausted. <3
